ACEY IS BACK After we updated our site to XHTML 1.0 Strict, we had so many people write and ask us where our cute plastic monkey had gone, we decided to bring him back. So here, for all you Monkophiles, is Acey's story once again. (And yes... our favourite computer game IS Curse of Monkey Island...) Thank you for your letters! |
COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT F.A.Q. ![]() O ur mascot, Acey the monkey, can be seen in some of The Knottwood Adventures, on the 1/6 scale doll and action figure photostory website that my grandchildren and I have been passionately producing for the last six years. |
ACEY was named after a real live monkey that my grandfather, William Hazeltine Smith, foolishly befriended when his battleship, the H.M.S. Carlisle, was stationed for three years in the Seychelles Islands during W.W.1. Forty years later, my grandfather still had tears in his eyes when he told about having to leave Acey behind and watch, helpless, while the little fellow raced about, distraught and agitated, on the shore. I was very small when I first heard Acey's story, and I remember it made me cry too. Acey, this is for you. I hope you and my grandfather are enjoying many bananas together in Monkey Heaven. |
